How to kill the character in my story?

So im having trouble figuring out how this one character was murdered.
The character isnt a main character and is a old man in florida living in a retirement home. He dissapeared going on a walk with his dog and his body was found on the creek bed.
I want him to die in a humorous kind of way. But i dont mean like him having a battle axe in his head while wearing a clown costume. Something dark, a little eery and slightly funny. not laugh out loud funny just smart, dry funny. Like how the characters are killd In Carl Hiaasen’s books. In a kind of funny but dark way
